Macdonald and Company are exclusively partnered with a top 20 national developer of affordable and mixed-use housing projects, we are seeking a seasoned construction manager for their growing Colorado market. The role involves acting as an 'Owners Rep' overseeing multiple ground up projects on behalf of the developer across CO, UT & AZ. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the design and development teams to ensure cost-effective projects and manage third-party contractors.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, coordinate, and facilitate general construction activities by third-party contractors to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
- Monitor and review contractors’ work for budget, schedule, quality, and owner’s programs.
- Update project financial models and provide regular reports on financial performance.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, coordinating and participating in Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Identify project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and lead workflow between design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Develop conceptual estimates from design documents, providing input on constructability and cost during the design process.
- Track and manage construction schedules and production levels to ensure timely project completion, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Produce monthly construction reports summarizing project progress, financials, and schedule performance.
- Lead and manage project teams, providing guidance and support, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in construction management, engineering, or business.
- CMAA, PMI, or similar construction project management certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of construction or project management experience, with at least 5 years in multifamily development and construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, OSHA 30 or higher preferred.
- Ability to maintain high levels of integrity and professionalism under pressure and multiple deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
